 |
Honomanu Beach
Half way between Hana and Paia
Kind of difficult to get to in regular rental car. If you have 4 wheel drive don’t miss this unblemished beach. Surfing can be very good. Left side has some of the most dangerous waves in the islands. Car theft can be high here. Hanamanu means House of Sharks and the name fits. May be one of the most “sharky” spots on Maui. Swimming not advised! |
 |

 |
Hookipa Beach Park
Northeast Maui
One of the top spots for ocean sports and recreation in Maui. Some of the best waves on the Maui coastline. Mecca for surfers. White sand, coconut trees, excellent waves.
● 3 Picnic Pavilions with barbecue grills and tables, 110/220 outlets
● Restroom Pavilion
● Lots of parking
● Park Weblink |
 |

 |
Koki Beach
Hana, Maui
This beautiful, red cliff surrounded beach is seldom visited. Unfortunately there is an abundance of washed up debris and trash. Water currents here are often treacherous.
● Good surfing
● No lifeguards or facilities |
 |

 |
Spreckelsville Beach
Paia, Maui
Great spot for advanced windsurfers. See windsurfing at its best. Waves can get up to around 20 feet. Windy most of the time. |
 |

 |
Red Sand Beach
Hana, Maui
Only for the adventurous as you will have to cross private land and slippery conditions! Bring a good towel as the "sand" is loose red volcanic cinder. Try the little lava tub where the ocean separates from the calm water. Rough conditions and rip tides! Very isolated, sometimes clothing is optional!
● No lifeguard
● No facilities |
 |

 |
Waianapanapa State Park
Road to Hana, Maui, Hawaii
Gorgeous black sand beach, sea caves, stone arch, campground, hiking trails. Dangerous swimming due to strong current and rough surf. Beautiful scenery. Bring your camera!
● DO NOT TAKE BLACK SAND from beach. This natural resource is limited and
cannot be replaced.
● Wear shoes, black sand is rough.
● Shaded picnic area, showers, restrooms
● Park Weblink |
