Best Hiking Trails on Lanai, Hawaii

Munro Trail Along this trail, enjoy fantastic views of Maunalei gulch and Maui on the 1,600 foot climb to cool elevations. The trail also takes you to the top of Mount Lanaihale, Lanai's highest point at 3,368 feet. The Munro Trail can only be driven in a rented 4-wheel drive vehicle. Drive carefully as conditions can be rough. Bring water, food, and a light jacket and check ahead for dry weather conditions. Fill your gas tank before beginning. The journey takes about three hours, so buckle up and have fun! About ten minutes from Lanai City Keomuku Highway (HI-430) north, turn right on Cemetery Road Follow signs to Munro Trail |
| Kanepuu Preserve This free, self-guided tour takes walkers through Kanepuu Preserve, one of the last remaining forests that once covered all of the dry lowlands of the islands. Groups of five or more may arrange for a guided hike on the trail, which is easily accessible from the main road to Keahikawelo, the Garden of the Gods.
